Return to an application and read its status
Use the borrower account sign-in and application lookup flow to restore a scoped application session, switch between your own applications, and follow the visible next action.
Before you start
- Have a borrower account with a verified email that matches the email used on the application.
- Use the borrower portal sign-in route; the status, upload, and review pages require both a signed-in identity and an application session.
Step by step
Sign in to the portal
Open the status page. If you are not signed in, the borrower guard sends you to Sign in to your portal. Complete the normal account sign-in flow and return to the portal.
Link the application
If the portal shows Link Your Application, choose Look Up My Application. Enter the Email address used during application and select Restore My Session.
Choose the correct application
If Your Applications appears, review each property's address or Application number, status, and start date, then choose View for the application you want. The switcher only lists application metadata and issues a session for the selected application.
Read the current status
On status, read the Status heading and description. Depending on the application, the visible states include Documents Required, Ready for Review, Under Review, and other application states. When assigned, Loan Progress shows the closing stage such as Application Review, Processing, or Underwriting.
Follow the visible action
Use Upload Documents when the page says documents are required, or Review & Submit when analysis is ready. For submitted or assigned applications, Start a New Application begins a separate application rather than changing the current one.
Check updates
Review File Activity for borrower-visible notes, document requests, uploads, status changes, and AI analysis. The page also shows Application Details and the assigned Loan Officer when one is present.
Check your work
- The status page shows one selected application and its current borrower-visible status.
- The next available action, such as Upload Documents or Review & Submit, is visible from the status page.
- Switching applications changes the active scoped application without exposing tokens for the other applications.
Troubleshooting
The lookup reports No application found for your account.
Confirm that the currently signed-in account's verified primary email is the same email used on the application. The server matches that verified email rather than trusting an arbitrary email in the request.
The page repeatedly shows Link Your Application.
Use Look Up My Application and Restore My Session again. If the session was cleared or the application belongs to a different verified email, sign in with the correct account instead of sharing an application token.
A switcher row does not open the expected application.
Use the property address, status, and started date shown in Your Applications to choose View. The lookup supports selecting only an application owned by the signed-in verified email.
A status or activity update is not visible yet.
Refresh the status page and check again. Only activity marked visible to the borrower is returned to this page; internal brokerage records are not displayed here.
Important limits
- The email field is a user-facing prompt, but the backend proves ownership with the signed-in Clerk-verified primary email. Do not rely on typing someone else's email or share a session token.
- Application sessions are scoped to one application. Use the built-in Your Applications switcher rather than copying IDs or private links between people.
- A status label, AI analysis, or Loan Progress stage is not a loan approval, rate lock, or promise of closing.
